O PASS OF THE NORTH, NOW THE OLD GIANTS ARE GONE — WE LITTLE MEN LIVE WHERE HEROES ONCE WALKED THE INVIOLATE EARTH
Circle of Giants
We have now opened the Ninth Wall of Giants, namely, El Paso Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas which also celebrated their centennial on June 17, 2018. The El Paso Branch fills an important role in the economy of West Texas and Southern New Mexico. The bank ships and receives billions of dollars annually to supply vault cash for regional banks and other depository institutions. The El Paso Economist and Research Department conducts regional research, specializing in the border economy, and also collects current economic intelligence from the board of directors, financial institutions, businesses and government leaders in order to support monetary decisions. After garnering this economic insight the branch shares knowledge of the economy through publications, speeches and presentations, and other outreach efforts. The El Paso Branch also works to improve basic financial literacy and economic understanding through programs aimed at a variety of audiences. The El Paso Branch of the Federal Reserve plays an integral role in the strength and economy of our region. Come join us in recognizing and honoring our next “Giant” of El Paso’s history and community between August 31, 2018 and February 28, 2019.
